King.
Game of Thrones Season One (2011)
I haven’t started watching a new one-hour drama since Lost ended. I tried a few, and nothing really made me come back. After the ridiculous amount of praise I had heard for Game of Thrones over the past couple months (not to mention the persistent filleting of the books for the last decade), I decided to give it a shot. I’ve finally found a new show.
I won’t bother explaining the plot, as it’s too massive to summarize in a couple of sentences, but even though most of what you’ve probably heard about the series is its political intrigue and copious amounts of nudity, Game of Thrones has an amazing cast of characters, especially Tyrion, played by the king Peter Dinklage.
Episodes nine and ten blew my dick off. It’ll suck not having a penis anymore, but it was totally worth it. I’m furious I must wait a year to see the next season. I could read the books, but I just finished a long fantasy series, and I’d like to take a break from long series of books for a while. Not to mention, much of the fun of the television show is in how unpredictable it is, and I’m not sure I want to spoil that experience by reading the books (yet).
A brilliant show. Watch it.
